2017-My Resolutions

Happy New Year to you all! I’m writing this as I’m sat at home on New Years Eve, having decided to stay at home and do some work on Inside Laura’s Head tonight rather than go out and spend money I don’t really have. Maybe I’m growing up (but I do wish I was out, if I’m honest!)

Like most people I’ve been thinking about what I want to achieve in the next year, and the easiest way to keep track of that is to share my plans with you guys. I’ve already got a draft post written for New Years Eve 2017 with these noted down too, so that I make sure at the time that I let you all know how I got on. Bit organised that, isn’t it!?

(I’m doing a separate post next week with my goals for Inside Laura’s Head for 2017, as I want to go into those in more depth)

Lose the extra weight

This will be achieved by following Slimming World/Weight Watchers (I can’t decide, may swap every couple of months!) after a fortnight of Rosemary Conley to really boost my loss. I’ll also be getting back to my Pole Fitness classes, wearing and properly using my Fitbit each day, and drinking tons more water

Take more photos

This should help with making me walk more, but it’ll also improve my mental health and my general wellbeing. I LOVE getting out with my camera but I don’t do it often enough. So this year I’ve used my stickers from Dorkface’s Etsy store, to pick out random dates in my 2017 diary which will prompt me to plan in some photography sessions.

I want to do more travel blogging and with that comes more travelling-so watch this space for lots of travel posts from me!

Only wear things I love

This one goes hand in hand with my losing weight. As I drop a dress size I’ll be buying new clothes and I am only buying things I love, that I look forward to wearing. Yes there will be basics-like some plain vest tops, jeans etc-but there will not be a cardigan, a jacket, a dress that I don’t love. By the end of 2017 I’m going to be excited about getting dressed each day and I’m going to do lots of fashion posts for you guys as I fill this wardrobe too.

What are your 2017 resolutions?

Great goals – I did Rosemary Conley many years ago when I was a teen and found it hugely successful. In a few months I lost a stone and a half, it was great. Good luck, and happy new year! X

Good luck with your resolutions lovely. We’ve pretty much have the exact same ones but my travel will mostly be UK based! Can’t wait to see how you get on with them.

Hey there Laura! I stayed home too. I have an absolutely adorable granddaughter, and a super fun to hang with 12 year old. So we hung out here. We colored, played some Battleship and Chess, and like you I blogged a bit too :).

I love that you said you stayed in because you couldn’t afford to go out. One of my 2017 resolutions is to absolutely conquer personal finance. Currently, things are a bit the other way around, and personal finance is conquering me ;).

I also love your goal to travel more! I’m right there with ya. I’m working as a home based travel agent to help me work on both goals!!!

I also have the weight loss goal! 😀 We actually have a lot of goals in common! Anyway, love your post, I hope you meet every goal! 😀

Great post! Really inspired about trying to only wear things that you love. I really want to try this! Great tip.

The last goal is wonderful, wearing only what you love should be a must for all of us. I hope you achieve them all.

I haven’t really set any resolutions in place because I always fail at them. Yours sound great though!

excellent post – I’m hoping to shift about 21 lbs this year – too much baby weight (3 babies in less than four years has taken its toll). x

These are some lovely resolutions though I am more of a goals person. Good luck with them, I have three goals: continue to travel more, save for mortgage and for emergency backup

Aw great goals, hopefully the walks will inspire you to take more photos and take care of your mental health. I want to learn how to take good photos as well x

These are great resolutions! I am hoping to lose so weight this year, but I think it’s something that is going to mean a change for the rest of my life. I have made a bucket list for our family – for all the things I would love us to do in 2017 – like having a family holiday and growing sunflowers. I hope you can tick everything off and have a great year!

I stayed in, too. And I am glad! I got so much sorted and felt really positive about starting 2017. My resolution/goal is to live more colourfully as I said in my last blog post – all about travelling more, being a bit more varied with my wardrobe, eating all the delicious food I can! Just making sure I have colour in everything I do. Good luck with your resolutions :o) x
