A couple of weeks ago I was in York for the day as Laura Haley Photography, shooting with Louise. We chose All Bar One for lunch (ourselves, and paid for ourselves-this is not a paid/free meal review, this is all me!) and as I don’t do enough food reviews on Inside Laura’s Head lately (hi restaurants/PRs-I’d LOVE to come and review for you! Laura likes food…) I thought I’d do a review.
We wanted cheap but decent, filling, proper food and somewhere that looked nice. That’s definitely what we got with All Bar One. I had a Peach Melba Mocktail and the Fish Finger Wrap (good old Fish Fingers-such a brilliant food!) I paid around £10 for my lunch which was well worth the money-£2.85 for my drink and £7.00 for my wrap.
I think we caught them at a busy time as we were offered sauces which we said yes to but they didn’t bring them over-we had to chase someone else but we did eventually get our ketchup and mayo. Wasn’t a big deal, just meant I spent ten minutes looking at my food when I could have been eating it. It happens.
I’m a big fan of the decor inside-the scrabble letters on the wall are cool and the different coloured glass light shades. Very much my kind of place, with a relaxed vibe-I could’ve happily sat and had a few drinks in there, or gone in to start off a night out. I imagine it gets busier on an evening, we went in at 2:30pm so it wasn’t that lively, not that we wanted lively.
Would I go to All Bar One again? Yes, most likely. I’d like to try more of their menu, like the Trio of Fries I was eyeing up. I’d also really like to try their cocktails, so next time I’m in York without my car (or somewhere else with an All Bar One, since they’re a chain) I’ll pop in for a drink or six. I do love a cocktail!
Have you been to All Bar One before? What did you think?
