August’s Empties

Hello!

I can’t believe we’re already a week into September! This year is going far too fast, it’ll be Christmas next. Crazy. Anyway, August’s empties. I’ll confess that most of my empties got thrown away as I moved house in August, so there are no photos as I binned the empties.
Keratin Pro Smooth and Strengthen Shampoo (and Conditioner) I spotted these in Home Bargains when I was having a ‘must spend less money’ month. At 79p each they fell into that theme rather nicely! I didn’t expect much from them so I’ve been pleasantly surprised with these. The shampoo cleans my hair well, it is a little drying though. But the conditioner really nourishes my hair. I tend to put quite a bit on (at that price, I can afford to!) and then leave it on for 10 minutes. Both the shampoo and the conditioner has made my hair better than my last shampoo (Bodyshop Rainforest Moisture) so I have filled my cupboard with these beauties.

Prada Candy Perfume I bought this about a year ago, using my Boots Advantage Card points. The bottle is about £56, so I was thrilled with this as a freebie! I’m rubbish at describing the scent so I cheated and googled: ‘The composition includes an elegant mix of musks in the top, a sensual balsamic vanillic accord of benzoin in the heart and sweet modern caramel in the base of the fragrance. ‘ I’d agree with that review. I find it lasts quite well on me, but I do tend to spray a LOT of perfume-on my wrists and neck, a bit on my clothes and then a few sprays into the air which I walk through. I only wear this when I’m going out, or for a special occasion, which is why it’s lasted so long. I’ve already bought a replacement bottle too. E45 Cream (tube) I have Psoriasis and this seems to really help it. I’d be interested to hear from anyone else with this skin condition to see what products you’ve tried and what helps you, as I am SICK of the constant itching.

Bluesky Base Coat and Top Coat I’ve recently got into doing my own gel nails, and really rate the Bluesky polishes-£5 each from ebay or Amazon, compared to nearlt £15 for CND. Bargain. As I paint my fingers and toes regularly I’ve run out of base coat and top coat. However, an unlikely source came to the rescue-Wilkinsons! The Essence range they stock does a base and top gel polish, as well as a cleanser and a remover, for between £2 and £3 each. I will definitely purchase my base, top and cleansers from there when I need them, much cheaper and easier to get-no waiting for an online delivery.

Soap and Glory Hand Food I have a full size tube of Hand Food in my bedroom and mini tubes at work, in my bag and on my kitchen windowsill. This was the best hand cream I’d ever found-that is, until this month’s Glossybox, when I discovered Fig and Rouge handcream! I don’t think I’ll be buying my Hand Food anymore as the Fig and Rouge soaks in far quicker and has a nicer scent. However I’ll use the Hand Food for when I’m at home and the Fig and Rouge for on the go, for now.

Soap and Glory Flake Away This was the first time I’d tried this scrub, although I’ve used other Soap and Glory scrubs. I liked the smell of this one but don’t think it worked very well, I’ve used better. I won’t be buying again.

Yankee Candles: I have a slightly Yankee addiction and weirdly used up all of my stash in August! I did have a Triple Chocolate Layer Cake, a Black Coconut, Red Velvet Cupcake, and Clean Cotton. All have been used up totally (I’ve always got at least one lit!) but I am refusing to allow myself to buy any large ones until I’ve used up the mini ones I possess. This does NOT make me happy and I’m missing my lovely jars.

What have you used up in August?
