*Festive Date Night Ideas

From time to time I like to give other people a change to write on Inside Laura’s Head, and this post is a guest post by Gina Kay Daniel. She’s telling us her festive date night ideas. Thank you for writing this, Gina.

With Christmas coming up, a lot of us will be staying in, feeling pretty down about the current state of our bank account and eating our weight in mince pies. If this is you, look away now! Because here are some beautiful ideas for those looking for festive date night ideas on the run up to the big day itself.

Night In

If you really are strapped for cash, but would love to do something special with your partner, why not have a night in? You could organize a Christmas night in, with hot chocolate, treats and a duvet fort. Or, you could plan a night in to wrap presents, write Christmas cards and jam to a Spotify Christmas Playlist.

Romantic Dinner

Depending on your budget, you could always go for a romantic dinner for two. Dress up to the nines and choose a restaurant with a Christmas menu. You will usually find that restaurants with a Christmas menu will be decorated, and even have crackers on the table…

Alternatively, you could tie in a romantic dinner with your night in and cook each other your own idea of beautiful food. This is a perfect idea if your Christmas is usually filled with loud family members and a tonne of pigs in blankets!

Stroll through the Christmas Markets

One of the prettiest (and most instagrammable) things you can do is take a stroll through a Christmas Market. Why not take the day off and visit the Manchester Christmas Markets together? You can expect Christmas food, gift ideas, candles and so much more.

Go Ice Skating

This notion ties in quite well with visiting Christmas Markets, many of which have their own ice rink you can visit. If you’re thinking of visiting Winter Wonderland in London this year, I highly suggest booking tickets. Not only will you get to experience ice skating in Hyde Park, you will cut the queue out as you have tickets. This in itself is worth it!

Create New Memories

If you’re an adventurous couple, and want to do something that’s totally out there, why not try a new experience together? On sites like Groupon and Wowcher, you can find hot air balloon rides, driving experiences and days out for half the price. Contact Wowcher if you’re looking for some great local deals on experiences!

What’s your favourite festive date?

Having a cosy night in with some mulled wine and watching a Christmas movie is my idea of a dream date!
