*Finding A Christmas Party Dress

It’s become a bit of a Christmas tradition, now. I start looking in September, don’t find anything I like, check my wardrobe in the hope something has appeared-and it hasn’t. In November I start to get worried, and in December I’m off to our local shopping centre to take advantage of their late night shopping by trying on every single dress in the place in a panic-only to end up with something so similar to what I wore last year. I definitely have a type, and it’s definitely boring, usually black, v neck, wrap waist. I don’t know why I bother spending the money to be honest, but I really need a¬†Christmas party dress.

Yes, we’re talking dresses. Last year’s Christmas party dress was actually fairly unusual for me-leopard print, with a thick black band around the bottom. This year I work for myself and so there IS no Christmas party (although I’m doing drinks with a friend, instead) and so obviously I’ve still spent weeks looking at dresses. Of course!

I’ve fallen in love with¬†sequin dresses, like the ones in the attached link from Quiz. There’s an absolutely gorgeous stripy one that, if I needed one, would definitely be mine this year. I’d accessorise it with high strappy heels, minimal silver jewellery, curls, and my favourite lipstick (Mac Rebel, if you’re asking-the perfect winter shade) I’d have plain nails and a plain clutch bag so I could really let the dress do the talking.

It’s typical that I fall in love with a dress when I really don’t need one, I’m not even going out for my birthday this year or for new years eve, so unless I can convince myself I need a dress to sit and blog in-I’ll have to resist I think. Unless I buy it for next year…

Have you got your Christmas party dress sorted?
