As a travel blogger it’ll be no surprise to hear that, if I won the lottery, the first thing I’d do is book travel. Well, technically the first thing I’d do is to order a couple of new cameras-an Olympus Pen as my carry everywhere camera and a far more expensive DSLR for my client shoots with Laura Haley Photography. THEN I’d book some travel. And there’d be a really busy, full of variety few months for me. I guess I’d better get playing the lottery regularly, then! Here’s where I’d go if I won the lottery.
Interrailing around Europe
I really, REALLY want to jump on the trains and whizz around Europe. I fancy seeing Paris, Berlin, lots of Poland, as well as Copenhagen. I’d definitely do as many places as I could fit in, over a two month period, if I’d just won the lottery. It’s much easier when money is no object and you can pay for dry cleaning in hotels I’m sure!
About a year ago I agreed with my friend Ryan that we’d go to South Korea together. That turned into me saying ‘well, if we’re flying all that way we could look at nearby places to see too’ and adding Tokyo and Beijing to the agenda. With a big chunk of money, we could definitely spend two weeks in each country, travelling around different parts, not just the capital cities. I could also pay the excess baggage fees when I bring a suitcase full of souvenirs from each country back with me-who can resist the Kawaii bits and all of the Korean Skincare?
My Great Uncle and Great Aunt live in Australia and I would LOVE to go out and see them. They’ve told me I’m welcome to, it’s just affording the plane ticket in the first place-with a lottery win, I’d be straight over!
I went to Cuba in 2011 through my trade union (I know, I was incredibly lucky) and whilst I saw and learnt so much, there’s still much more of the country I didn’t see. I’d also like to spend more time in Havana as I just loved the city, and now I’m a photographer there’s so much I want to shoot over there.
Where would you head to first if you won the lottery?
