I’ve decided, as much as I like setting monthly goals, that I’m going to change the format of these posts and make them plans, not goals. It means I have a little more flexibility to say how I’m going to do something rather than what I’m going to do, and it makes things easier to stick to. It’s also something that is GOING to happen, whereas goals are what I’m hoping to happen. Positive mental attitude, guys. I’m feeling better already!
Post four times a week, instead of seven
I’ve been aiming for daily posts throughout September and October and have mostly done this (I have a few October posts yet to go up as I’ve not taken the photos for them yet-I will get caught up this weekend I promise!) but I’ve not seen the increase in traffic from this that I’d hoped. I know full well that this is down to me not having time to promote as much as I’d like, or to fix things on older posts to help with my SEO. Dropping to four posts a week frees up some time, and going forward this will be what I do-with the exception being months where I have a lot of sponsored content, when I’ll post more so that I don’t end up with everything being sponsored and nothing organic.
Twice daily posts on Instagram and Facebook, and daily Instagram Stories and Snapchat content
This is something I find SO tricky, but again I know I’ll see the benefits. I want to promote one of my own posts on Facebook every day, plus either something from one of my businesses or from another blogger-I see some great content, I don’t share it and that’s not how I want to be.
I also massively neglect Insta, my blog account, my photography account AND my new hobby account. And I want to connect with you guys more, which is where Insta Stories and Snapchat come in.
Promotion of my content on Twitter and in Facebook groups
A post will be promoted in Facebook groups every day-both new and past content. My twitter feed will see me consistently promoting too. I do this for clients, I put my own stuff last always but I need to make sure I do my own too.
More promotion of other people on this blog
As well as really pushing my ad slots again, I’m going to do a monthly, themed post which gives me the chance to plug other bloggers. It might be a ‘people who’s style I want to steal this month’ post or a ‘people who’s travel plans I’m jealous of’ or anything like that, but it will mostly be a ‘so you should read these posts’ post.
Far, FAR more commenting on other blogs
I think we’re all bad for this at the moment. I want to make sure I comment on at least 5 other blogs per day. I did this tonight just before I wrote this post, and I’ll be doing it every single night.
Do you have plans for November you want to share?
