After the hustle and bustle of Christmas, all of the alcohol, big portions of food and boxes of chocolates (and trifle, and all the turkey…) I really need to step away from the food, get some exercise in and get a bit fitter. I always feel like this in January and I know I’m not the only one, so I’m pleased to be joining forces with some other Leeds Bloggers and the Teenage Cancer Trust to raise some money for them, and help my waistline at the same time.
As a freelance photographer and blogger, working for myself full time, I don’t get a lot of exercise on an average day-some days I don’t even leave the house. To complete this challenge I need to hit ten thousand steps a day-which is the amount everyone should be walking to be healthy. I’d guess that most days I hit around two, and so this is going to be tough. But, for such a good cause, I will do this. And you can help to spur me on, by sponsoring me. I get a decent amount of views on each of my posts, and so if everyone who reads this can spare £1 in sponsorship, Teenage Cancer Trust will be doing really well. Please, if you can spare something, consider sponsoring me for this.
Cancer, if you can excuse my language, is a bastard. It’s a disease that doesn’t discriminate, affecting old and young, rich and poor, outwardly healthy or not. It’s always awful but it seems more awful when you’re younger, and teenagers trying to deal with cancer deserve all the help they can get. Teenage Cancer Trust do all sorts of things to help, and I’m proud to be supporting them with this challenge.
So, I’ll be popping something in my sidebar to update with my daily step count, and I’ll also have my justgiving link there. I’ll be updating my Twitter, my Facebook and my Instagram Stories too, so do follow those to see how I’m getting on. And, the odd nudge so I go out for a walk would be appreciated.
Have you done anything like this before?
