Today my first ever Birchbox arrived. I love the idea of Birchbox (5/6 samples per month of high end products, every box you get and every survey you do earns you Birchbox points and 100 points is £10 off in their online shop, which sells products from previous boxes, the full size versions. If they’ve featured a Benefit product for example, then they stock all Benefit’s things.
So, what was in my September Birchbox?
This month’s box has a Happy Days theme, and comes in this lovely pink and turqouise box. The inside of the lid can be used to make a photo frame, which is pretty cool-although I think mine will be used for storage as I do my Glossyboxes.
I’ve never had a Birchbox before so wasn’t expecting the drawstring bag that the contents come in-I’ll probably use it for make-up or jewellery when I go away overnight.
This month’s Birchbox has an extra gift, a cute photo clip. I’ll be putting mine on my desk at work when I choose a photo for it.
Every Birchbox contains a lifestyle extra. I had a packet of Urban Fruit, in ‘Perfect Pineapple’-dried pineapple. I’m not a dried fruit fan but suspect that Stella the hamster will help me out here.
My favourite thing in this month’s box is my Beauty Blender, which has been raved about by Beauty Bloggers. This has an RRP of £16 so is more than the price of the box before we’ve even started, hooray!
My second favourite item is a sample of Benefit’s It’s Potent, a brightening under eye cream that promises to fade dark circles and help reduce fine lines. I’ve ALWAYS got big bags under my eyes and so this may be a really good product for me, but at £25.50 for 14.2g I’m too tight to buy it if it doesn’t work for me. I’ve got a 3g sample size so it should give me enough chance to see if it works, thanks Birchbox! I love Benefit make-up so hoping this is as good.
Another brilliant sounding product I have in my Birchbox is Plush Therapy’s Mild Dermabrasion Face and Body Scrub. It’s a 20ml sample so won’t be enough to use as a body scrub but I’m looking forward to trying it on my face. Not sure it’s something I’d ever buy but lets see if the sample changes my mind! The full size product is out of stock in the Birchbox shop so I don’t know how big it is or how much it would cost.
My fourth product isn’t something I really want. It’s a Model Co Lip Laquer in a nude/pink sort of colour. I don’t usually do lipgloss and if I do, I don’t use nude colours. Think I’ll put this one up for swaps.
My fifth product is the Agave Healing Oil Treatment. This promises to smooth, restore and transform unmanageable frizzy hair. Well, look up that description in the dictionary and you’ll find my hair! Fingers crosses this helps me and if it does I will be buying the full size FOR SURE.
Well, that’s my September Birchbox. Overall, I quite like it. I’m looking forward to the October one. I also love how their loyalty points work. I think I’m going to be a very loyal subscriber!
