Today is my birthday (28! WHEN did that happen?) and my lovely boyfriend got me, amongst other things, a Superdrug voucher. He said he was playing it safe-he was, but I was thrilled with it all the same. Obviously, it’s been spent-and here’s what I bought!
First of all, I was very excited to see that the Superdrug I chose to visit (White Rose Centre, Leeds-as I was on my way home from mums in West Yorkshire to my house in Darlington, and so was near enough passing) had a I Love Makeup stand. If you don’t know already, I Love Makeup is part of the Makeup Revolution range, but I have never seen it in a store. Until today, that is! There were a few items I was coveting from them so I spent quite a while at the stand….Michael did not look impressed.
I bought a Blushing Hearts Blusher in shade Blushing Heart-there are three available, one is too coral/peach for me and the other wasn’t available in store-this is the one I wanted anyway though.
Pretty, isn’t it!
I then bought two Lip Geek Lipsticks: Candy Rock, a bright, fuscia pink colour and Barbie is Jealous-a darker fuscia pink. I do love my bright lipsticks!
Swatched below are both of the lipsticks, the three different colours of the blusher (bottom row) and the three colours together (top row) ignore the coral/red colour for now…
Also from Makeup Revolution, this time their normal range, I bought their fixing spray and their ‘The One’ Concealer. This is quite unusual in that it’s a concealer with clear coating, so it should blend easier. I’ll report back! The last thing I bought is their Iconic 1 pallette-a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 1 pallette. I already have, and love, their Iconic 2 pallette, and for £4 just couldn’t resist this one!
The next stand I made a beeline for was Sleek. I wanted to buy something for my giveaway box (do enter, by the way, if you haven’t already! Read the post for more info HERE) Sleek was on offer-spend £10 and get a free Matte Me Lip Cream or a Gloss Me Lipgloss. I’m not a Lipgloss fan so I wanted the Lip Cream and as I needed foundation and the mystery item, I had spent over £10. So I chose the Lip Cream in 434 Party Pink. That’s also swatched on the swatches photo. The foundation I chose was their Bare Skin Foundation in 379, Shell. This is a pale shade, for my pale skin. It’s a very good match, happily.
I picked up a models own 5 in 1 top and base coat as I love it and am running out. I also grabbed another for my giveaway box, and because I’d spent over £8 (I think!) I got a free eye kit. Happy days!
On my way to the till I spotted that Herbal Essences was on better than half price. I’ve fancied trying their new, Clearly Naked 0% range for a while. The range is paraben and colourant free and so better for your hair. It’s white tea and mint scented and I’ll review it for you all at some point soon, when I’ve given it a good go.
Have you tried any of these products? What do you think?
