On Sunday I was invited along to The Body Shop in Huddersfield, to a Bloggers Event to celebrate the launch of their Pinita Colada range. Pinita Colada is a non alcoholic version of a Pina Colada cocktail-Pineapple and Coconut loveliness.
The range consists of a Body Scrub, which has chunks of Coconut in to make it extra scrubby (hello best description ever!) and smells divine. There’s a Body Butter, which is thinner than the usual Body Butters they do-this makes me happy as I find they can be a little too thick for me sometimes. There’s also a Shower Gel (The Body Shop’s Shower Gels are among my favourites, I’ll definitely be buying a couple of these) and last but not least there’s a Body Sorbet. This is kind of like the gel aftersun you get, but nicer smelling. I want one of these to use as aftersun in the summer.
The Body Shop definitely know how to hold a good event. Despite a small issue beyond their control (the shopping centre wouldn’t let us leave via the main door after hours, so we had to go out of the staff exit-no big deal) it seemed like the guys at Huddersfield had thought of everything. We had some lovely refreshments-Tropical Juice and I think Pineapple Juice, and bowls of sweets and tropical themed cookies-fantastic-and we were well entertained for the two hours we were there.
We were divided into groups and taken around each station-skincare, bodycare and makeup. At the skincare section we were given a skincare assessment and recommended the right Body Shop products to use for our skin types. I was pleased to see that I was recommended products I already use, meaning that the staff at The White Rose store clearly know their stuff too. The lovely Jess, who organised the event, gave me a facial-which after a heavy weekend my skin LOVED. Thanks Jess!
At the bodycare station we had a chance to try the full Pinita Colada range on one arm-and my goodness I could really see and feel the difference in my skin.
The last station was makeup, we were given a demonstration of the Body Shop’s makeup range including new releases like their Lip and Cheek Stains, which I need in my life, and their Instaglow CC creams-designed to wear under your foundation, although the girls said they often mix theirs WITH foundation to give them a glow, or use as a highlighter. I want them all.
We were told about their new scheme where for every purchase made this summer, The Body Shop will plant one square metre of Rainforest in Khe Nuoc Trong, Vietnam. I think that’s great. You can read more about this by following the #findreggielove hashtag on Twitter. Of course I made a purchase-their Microdermabrasion which I love, their Satsuma Shower Gel, and their Satsuma Body Sorbet. It’s only now I’m thinking that as much as I love the Satsuma range, I should’ve bought Pinita Colada instead.
I had a great time at the event, meeting the Huddersfield girls (and the Huddersfield Bloggers too!) and on leaving the store I was given a goodybag, which was pretty cool. Want to know what was in it? You can see the photos over on my Instagram.
Have you tried the Pinita Colada range? What did you think?
