If you’ve seen yesterday’s post you’ll know I was at Leeds Gin Festival with Lizi on Sunday. We had a great time there but once we’d left, the day turned into one of those hilarious, brilliant, friend bonding sessions. So I thought I’d tell you guys about it, because hey it’s my blog so I can! The perfect Sunday afternoon..
We went to The Liquorist on Greek Street, for cocktails. From the moment we walked in, when we started talking to the barman about eggs, and then speed dating (I had an Amaretto Sour which contains egg white and we just went from there) to when we left and Lizi did something brave, we didn’t stop laughing. We were texting boys, drinking cocktails, having heart to hearts-effectively I felt like I was straight out of Sex and the city, and I love that.
I’ve had a difficult week and it meant a lot to spend Sunday with a good friend, laughing and being silly and spilling secrets. It’s one of those afternoons you want all your other afternoons to be like. Lizi is someone who is there for me 24/7, who has listened to me vent and panic and plan all week and I can’t tell you how great of her that is. One of the things I treasure most about this blog is the friends I’ve made through it. I’m very, very lucky that the Leeds bloggers are the very best, and I really can’t wait for our next cocktail session (which is in less than a week so, yay!)
Despite the blogger sterotype, I really don’t drink that often-I live quite far out of Leeds so am usually driving not drinking. So I treasure ANY excuse to have a couple of drinks and let my hair down a bit.
Have you made any good friends through your blog? How would you spend the perfect Sunday afternoon?
