So last Saturday I was lucky enough to be at #TheCityGirls Leeds event. The first event, Sheffield, seemed amazing, from the (many, many) posts I read about it. So when I heard that Lorna and Holly were holding their second event in Leeds, I wanted in.
After getting up mega early, I headed into Leeds. Arriving an hour too early I decided to whizz round the shops before walking up to Greek Street to the excellently chosen venue, The Liquourist. A new, swanky cocktail bar is ALWAYS a good choice for a Blogger Event! Sadly, I was driving, and so couldn’t have any cocktails-but I will so be back.
The day started well, with time for us all to chat. Then Holly and Lorna introduced themselves and explained what The City Girls is all about-basically a fun, but useful, networking opportunity, bringing together brands and bloggers whilst also raising money for charity. After that the lovely Suzie from Leeds Women’s Aid spoke to us about the very valuable, sadly necessary work Women’s Aid do. A brilliant choice of charity, Holly and Lorna! I’m pleased to say we raised £240 for them, which will be doubled by Aviva, £480 for such a worthy cause is a brilliant achievement.
Then, we were let free to network and chat to the lovely brands who were attending, and pick up some goodies donated by other brands. I had my eyeliner and mascara done by Benefit, chatted about new ranges with The Body Shop, was given some gorgeous Mankuna Doctor products and found out about the brand by chatting to their ambassador, lusted over Kendelle clothes, and chatted to Good Relations PR. I also had nail art done on my accent nail (over the Shellac I was already wearing) by Nails By Ivy. She is amazingly talented and so sweet too. I’m sad that I didn’t get to speak to Zach from Exposure Ninja, though! I just ran out of time.
Every good blogger event ends with a goody bag, and this one was no different. Look at these beauties!
There will be a post coming next week about the contents of my goody bag, and also telling you all about the raffle prize I won. For now, you can see more photos from the event by following me on all of my social media channels.
