Things I really want to see in…Dublin

*Please note that this post will be posted without photos initially, then when I get back from the trip I’ll add them in*

So in a week and a half (yay to short notice trips, I love being spontaneous with my travel) I’m heading to Dublin for a weekend with my friend Jade. It’s a collaborative trip and I’m really excited to post about it so you can all see who with (oooh, mysterious!) but for now, whilst doing my planning, I wanted to show you my list of what I really want to see.

Trinity College

Think the Dublin version of England’s Oxford or Cambridge, Trinity College is a very prestigious colleague with a very long history. I’ve always wanted to go and have a look, take some photos (it looks BEAUTIFUL) and maybe just take in the atmosphere. Pray it’s not raining, please!

Dublin Castle

I feel like photos of a Castle will look great on my Instagram feed, so if the weather is good enough I’m going to spend a couple of hours here. I’m hoping I can climb up high for some great city views too.

Queen Of Tarts

My friend mentioned this place to me when I said I was going to Dublin and then I noticed it mentioned in the guide book too. They have three different locations in Dublin and apparently there’s usually a queue out of the door. I REALLY want to head over there and see what cakes they have. Yum.

Kilmainham Gaol

This place is no longer used (luckily!) but you can have a tour and take pictures. I’ve always wanted to visit a jail (I appreciate thats weird, but I used to work for a union who had Prison Officers as members and my boss had promised to take me on a tour-I feel like I missed out!) so seeing this disused jail would be a close second to experiencing a real one. I’m not planning on being arrested anytime soon so it’ll definitely be my only way in!

Street Art

Lets face it, I love street art in general. I love anything with lots of colour. So I’m hoping to get some wandering around, spotting street art time in on my trip.

Have you been to Dublin? What are your must sees?

It’s now a decade since I visited Dubin but I remember visiting Trinity College with my Uncle, I think perhaps he was lecturing there at the time.

Dublin is a lovely place! Lot of street arts to enjoy. We had been couple of years before and nothing is on top of my head now 🙂 . I am not good in remembering places and names and that’s the reason I take a lot of pictures so I can remember them when I see the pictures 🙂 …. Looking at your post, you might either be on holidays now or just have finished!? Hope yo had a great time.
