My 72 hours in Wroclaw has been one of the best trips I’ve ever taken, hands down. I’ve managed to squeeze a lot in whilst also getting plenty of sun on my skin, and taking lots of breaks to eat, write or just rest. I’ve really fallen in love with the city and I will DEFINITELY be back, so I thought I’d write about things to do in Wroclaw-the things I’ll be doing next time. Obviously I don’t have photographs of the things I haven’t done yet, so instead I’m filling this post with photographs of some of the things I did see.
I saw lots of little golf cart like buses going through the city showing people around but decided not to go for it on this trip. Next time I’ll do a tour, to see the areas I just didn’t see this time. I’ll need to make sure I find an English speaking one so I don’t miss out on all the information they share.
I fully intended to go to the Sky Tower for the amazing views over the city but I ran out of time. I did climb the tower at Mary Magdalene Church and that terrified me but Sky Tower looks similar to Sky Garden in London, and I was fine there.
When I went to Wroclaw Fountain on my last day I was actually really close to the zoo, but didn’t have time to go as I’d already planned so many things to do in Wroclaw. The zoo is a full day of a trip I think and so next time I’ll go, and stop off at the fountain in the evening for one of the famous light shows. The Zoo is huge, so it’s definitely a full day of a job to visit and there’s animals I’ve never seen in real life, like Hippos.
This was next to Wroclaw Fountain and I was tempted to go see it but on my last day I was too tired, too warm and in too much pain so I abandoned that plan and got a tram home instead. Next time I’ll get a tram to the zoo and do the zoo, the Japanese Garden and the Fountain before getting the tram back in the evening.
I didn’t eat as much food as I thought I would on my last trip, though I did write a food diary about the places and things I ate. Next time I will plan better and make sure I know where I’m eating for what meal, so I can make sure I’m in the right area at the right time. There’s so much more food for me to try in Wroclaw.
Free Walking Tour
There’s a walking tour that goes from Market Square at 11 every day and finishes at 1:30 at Tomski Bridge. Next time, I’ll find a day to do the tour over lunchtime. I’m sure there’s so much more of the city I haven’t even thought of.
I’ve already written about these adorable little statues and at my last count I’ve seen about 40 of them. But there’s hundreds in total, and I’d like to find more. There’s a map of their locations that should help me to tick more off next time.
Have you been to Wroclaw before? What should I add to my list of things to do in Wroclaw, for next time?
