Yesterday, 31st August, Inside Laura’s Head, my little corner of the internet, turned ten years old. I’ve been writing here for a decade and that is SUCH an achievement, I wanted to mark it with a post. Through those ten years I’ve gone from beauty posts with the most terrible photos (now thankfully hidden) to the travel blog you see here today, which you’ll hopefully agree is useful, interesting and full of good photography too. I’ve learnt how to write for SEO (that is, so that when someone searches for something I’ve written about, Inside Laura’s Head comes high up in the list of results) and I get most of my traffic from Google. I’ve learnt to take great photos, to share my content in the right places to get you all to see it, and most of all, to enjoy the journey.

Every travel post you read on here is a destination I’ve been to personally, since starting this blog. I’ve been to twenty six new countries since starting to write on here, numerous new cities, and returned to some I’ve logged (like Amsterdam, as a great example) I started a ’40 before 40′ challenge to encourage me to visit new places and will have managed 37 by the end of this year, on my 38th birthday, so I’m totally on track to hit that.

I’ve made friends with other bloggers, travelling with some, I’ve been to blogger events and spent time with even more. I’ve worked with brands, tourism boards, hotels and more, always making sure that the content I write is useful, and more importantly, truthful, for my readers. Working with Cheapflights on their Cheapflights Challenge was a particular highlight, as was my collaboration with Visit Berlin. I hope to work with many more in the future.

Today, to celebrate ten years properly, I’ve launched a newsletter! You can read the first edition here, and please do subscribe, using the free option. The newsletter will hit your inboxes once a month, and will be a quick read to be enjoyed over a cuppa. Your support, as always, means so much to me.

My plan for the next ten years of Inside Laura’s Head is pretty simple-growth. I want more people to read my words, I want more quality content on here for you to enjoy. I want more photos, better photos, I want my Google rankings to rise higher and I want readers to be automatically telling their friends about my content. I’ll put the work in to get there, and I hope it’ll show. New posts will be better, they’ll add more value to readers wanting to find out about a destination. Older posts will be updated, to check information is still accurate and to add more value. I’ll also add in destination guides, similar to my complete guide to Gdansk, for places I’ve previously visited. I can see how many of you have read the Gdansk guide, so these are clearly something you want to see. I’m listening!

I’m writing for you, my readers, so do feel free to email me on insidelaurashead@hotmail.com if there’s something you’d like to see on here. I can’t promise I can fly to somewhere tomorrow to write a brand new complete guide post, but I’ll absolutely take your requests into account.
Here’s to another ten years!
