Last year's summer trip around the Balkans was by far my most complicated trip, logistically. For this year's 'big' trip we both wanted to book something easier. J has fancied Italy for a while so we were looking at Italy as a starting point, and then working out where we could easily add from there. Visiting San Marino wasn't really on my radar, but I do want to visit every … [Read more...]
Spending 48 hours in Poznan, Poland
I really, really like Poland. I've already fallen in love with Wroclaw and Gdansk and when we realised we could do a weekend in Poznan using a lieu day I had from work, I booked those flights so fast. We landed around 6pm on the Friday evening and took off at 4pm on Sunday so we really were spending 48 hours in Poznan, but we fit a lot in and here's everything you can do if you … [Read more...]
Is the Amsterdam City Card worth it?

Visiting Gods Own Junkyard, Walthamstow

Ngong Ping 360 & Tian Tan Buddha: Everything You Need to Know
As soon we booked our Hong Kong trip, we knew we wanted to visit Ngong Ping 360 and the Tian Tan Buddha. Situated at the top of a mountain on Lantau Island, it's not the easiest place to get to or a quick thing to tick off your Hong Kong bucket list, but the Tian Tan Buddha is a big deal in Hong Kong. We knew we wanted to dedicate one of our 7 days in the city to seeing him, … [Read more...]
Travelling with hand luggage only
Why would you do this? I used to be a paying for a hold suitcase on every flight sort of person. I packed plenty of outfit options, a few books etc so I'd just have to book a suitcase onto my flights. Then I realised on my last big trip that at approximately £20 per flight, when I'm taking flights from Leeds to Riga, Riga to Tallinn, Helsinki to Riga to Budapest and … [Read more...]
